They’ve got you nil by mouth
But I’m not walking out.
It’s not over, ‘ til another
Sunrise hits your face
Keep on stepping out
Show them the ninth round
You’ve got something they just want to hold
Hold up those old gloves
Throw them out the ring
You don’t need to, roll on with the
Blows. You’ve seen it all
Stocked up on your pride
You won’t need that out here
The pages, they don’t hold you account at all
The wagers they’ve got
You up on their boards
Dice rolled all over your score
Tell them it’s not
All set in stone
I know you will, keep on burning
‘Til you break the mould
You’ve got to make the grade
Go against the grain
It won’t matter how long you have
waited at the bottom
Show us all the odds
Throw them to the sky
You don’t have to chase that thought at all
Caught up in your wind
Your doubt isn’t a sin
It’s all going to come up to the
Surface in the night
Go out on the tiles
You deserve that short while
Look back, but don’t you wave goodbye at all
Look back, but don’t you wave goodbye at all

Lonesome Walking Man

Well my baby’s made me lonesome
She’s got me walking the street at night
So I got myself a heavy bottle
I know that spirit’s going to see me right
I don’t know where I’m going
Couldn’t care less where I’d been
Well that little girl’s got me running round in circles
She’s got me in a crazy little spin
Maybe it’s alright if you say it’s ok
Maybe I can last just another single day
Well I was walking, out on the main street
Falling all over my feet
There was a man. He came up and took my bottle away
He was calling himself the chief of police
So he put me in a courtroom
And the judge, came up on side
He said “son, you’re in contempt of court”
“I’m afraid I’ll have to put you all behind”
Well maybe it’s alright if you say it’s ok
Maybe I can last, just another single day
Well I was walking, out on the prison yard
Came across a man, the meanest man I’d meet
I asked him for some direction
He said “Son, you’re better out off on the street”
So his cronies, they came up behind me
One to my left, and one to my right
I threw one down, he didn’t get back up again
Looks like I’m going to be in here for life
Well maybe it’s alright if you say it’s ok
Maybe I can last, just another single day
Well my baby, she’s got me lonesome
She’s got me walking this prison yard
I’m running myself in circles
Never knew times could get this hard
Well my baby, she’s got me lonesome
She’s got me walking this prison cell
I’m running myself ragged in circles
Feels like I’m in the seven rings of hell
